Jason Hoey began his career after earning a BA in Anthropology from University of Virginia. He took those skills as well as his love of learning and applied them to studying human movement and exercise sciences. Not long after establishing a career as a personal trainer,
Jason developed a strong connection with the work and the personal and professional relationships created. Jason has held personal certifications such as; AFAA, NASM, ISSA, MAT and RTS. He is currently certified by MAT Muscle Activation Technique and Resistance Training Specialist, which he has held since 2006.
Kelly Hoey has been working in the health and fitness industry since 2000. She received her BS in Movement Science from the University of Michigan. After moving to Chicago, she discovered both the Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) and the Resistance Training (RTS) program. Kelly is currently the only Resistance Training Specialist Mastery level in the state of Michigan. She has been a MAT Certified Specialist since 2005 and a RTS Mastery level since 2007.
“I spend most of my days in front of a computer and all that sitting was causing me a lot of back and other problems. Skeptical of any non-traditional therapy, I discovered that MAT gave me both instant and long-term results. The back problems are gone and I always feel 10 years younger."
By the time I came to Jason, I had probably seen about a dozen doctors for an injury. I had never heard of MAT. I immediately knew that this method was something different, and that it could work for me. It has been 6 years since my injury; only since I began MAT with Jason several months ago, am I finally able to envision a life free of pain and the possibility of running again.
Jason is a skilled trainer and fun to work with. I workout at a Crossfit facility and have added regular MAT sessions to my training regime. Through Jason’s assessments, treatments and “homework assignments” I am able to work through various muscle related ailments and remain active. Jason is a true professional and MAT is an amazing treatment option for both injury treatment and prevention.
After 40 years of exercise classes, I injured my back weightlifting, and my shoulder in Yoga. Jason is not only a creative trainer (in 2 years I’ve never had the same workout twice! MAT therapy keeps my body tuned to perform at its best all the time. No more injuries and I’m in the best shape of my life.
